BACKGROUND

HCL being a $6.5 billion IT services company with more than 100,000 employees across 31 countries hires close to approx. 30,000 employees annually. This increase in workforce is critical to the strong revenue growth for an IT company. Traditional channels for recruitment marketing are no longer enough for IT organizations as sourcing channels. Increasingly active and passive candidates are spending a substantial time on digital mediums leading to a surge in investments on social recruiting.

During our ongoing research with talent pool in India, we found out that job search process is tedious and predictable in India. We wanted to create a campaign to challenge this perception and transforming boring written job descriptions into disruptive and unexpected videos.

 
CHALLENGE

To create job description videos that connect with the millennial IT workforce while simultaneously building the HCL brand as a dierentiated entity in the IT industry.

 
IDEA

Many IT professionals today are so passionate about their work, that they miss out on viral trends and videos.

So we created Hirals. Job descriptions disguised as viral videos that reached out to their viral-loving friends, urging them to share the videos with their friends in IT and getting them to apply for a job at HCL, hence making the videos “go hiral”.
