zCloud refers to the Cloud-based environment on IBM z-series mainframes. It has a virtualized infrastructure environment, along with the ability to implement various cloud models and categories.

The virtualization is achieved via zVM running as a hypervisor, on which multiple operating systems are configured. The main feature zCloud is to create a cloud environment on the mainframe legacy environment, without touching the core of the applications.
