Mobile asset management, enterprise portal for one of the largest water companies
Client
The customer was one of the largest water companies in England and Wales.
The customer needed a comprehensive integrated solution, where a user-friendly interface was integrated with the key business modules of SAP and with other applications in the enterprise. There was also a business need to re-look at the IT architecture and restructure it, if needed. SAP was the backbone of the enterprise and supported key business processes. Any solution would have to be seamlessly integrated with SAP and would yet have to be transparent to the end-user.
Area of Engagement
HCL engaged with the customer in the following areas: Mobile asset management, enterprise portal, PLM, MM,SD, CATS, BW and CRM.
HCL provided the following solutions:
- New IT strategy to align the IT systems within the new businesses
- SAP enterprise portal to provide limited, role-based and web-based secure access to required data
- Portal to provide the vendor limited access to the data residing in the R/3 system
