products, HCL have developed a robust framework --Universal Content Migrator --for
migrating from one content repository to another. UCM supports 18 ECM products as
source and target for Content migration. ECM Products that are supported by UCM
are IBM FileNet Image Services, IBM FileNet Content Services, IBM FileNet P8, IBM
Lotus Notes, IBM Content Manager, EMC Documentum, Microsoft SharePoint, Oracle UCM,
Network Drive, Database, EMC eRoom, Livelink, Alfresco, HP TRIM and Fatwire
Need for Enterprise Content Consolidation 
Enterprise content is often insufficiently structured from the very beginning or made more
inconsistent after years of business change. It therefore no longer assists business
users adequately. This creates a dire need for moving existing documents into a
new ECM application, consolidating repositories across the enterprise, replacing
older legacy systems or simply upgrading to a new repository version. This requires
a migration tool with all the inbuilt power and automation to transform metadata
easily and to classify content in a way to optimize support for critical business
functions.
