Universal Content Migrator Technology
With today's increased use of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) a powerful migration tool is a must in every major installation. There are ever more occasions when volume document migrations become mandatory: moving existing documents into a new ECM application, consolidating repositories across the enterprise, replacing older legacy systems or simply upgrading to a new repository version, to name just a few. There is more to it, of course, than simply uploading content into a repository. Documents need to be stored in the right context location and enriched with wisely assigned metadata in a way which meets the requirements of business operations, accessibility and security. This requires a migration tool with all the inbuilt power and automation to transform metadata easily and to classify content in a way to optimize support for critical business functions.
Based upon experience in similar migration projects, HCL have developed framework for migrating from one content repository to other content repository. This framework based implementation provides robust and quick migrations. This migration framework is developed using an open architecture and capable of including any repository as source repository and any repository as target repository. Universal Content Migrator tool supports migrating the electronic content to and from any leading ECM solutions like IBM FileNet Content Services, IBM FileNet Image Services, Microsoft SharePoint, IBM Lotus Notes, IBM Content Manager, Network Drives and EMC Documentum.
