Transition Management
HCL's Transition framework - ASSeTTM
HCL’s experience in managing large multi service delivery deals has helped in establishing a 3 step engagement framework ASSeTTM (Assessment - Service Transition - Steady State with the Transformation edge) for providing sustained benefits to any customer, through the entire engagement lifecycle. ASSeTTM framework is an end-to-end transition framework that provides a prescribed set of tools, processes, checklists, templates, guidelines and status reports from over 250 successful transitions.
The ASSeTTM framework organizes itself into three key phases:
- Assessment
- Due Diligence Planning
- Information Acquisition and Mining
- Analysis and Reporting
- Service Transition
- Initiation
- Absorption
- Acquisition
- Redesign
- Replication
- Demonstration
- Parallel Run
- Observance
- Steady State
The above approach is echoed in the design of this framework, wherein we have consciously avoided a Big Bang approach. The ASSeTTM Methodology seeks to ensure a thorough assessment of the current or “as is” state followed by transition and by a stable period of operations and then transformation to ensure optimized IT performance. This methodology will enable our clients to have a near zero risk and quick transition from their current state to a HCL managed state without any productivity loss or business downtimes.
The ASSeTTM framework has been designed to cater different lines of business or service lines. ASSeTTM product provides a prescribed set of tools, processes, checklists, templates, guidelines and status reports from all the large deals experiences in the past and also verified by certified group of individuals that not only helps accelerate the project execution but also measures the success at any point of time.
Further the entire framework has been automated using the PM Smart tool which provides better governance and online tracking mechanism. Every transition project is custom created in the tool along with a defined set of templates, dashboards and trackers contractually agreed upon with the project team at the start of the project.
All phases constitute a set of checklist and deliverables at the end of each stage. While components in each stage are in a strict serial order, overlap of phases is possible therefore customization is expected for every engagement depending on the requirement.
