In 2008, News UK partnered with HCL to streamline and transform its data center infrastructure, and add automated disaster recovery. This long-term data center transformation relationship led News Corp to choose HCL as the core partner for its "DC-3" strategic vision – a project to create a virtual data center on its cloud platform. The global migration assessment program (part of News UK’s cloud first strategy) was a natural extension of the DC-3 vision. It aimed to migrate 75% of the enterprise’s applications to the cloud and reduce its data center footprint from 64 to 6.

HCL enabled Business Intelligence (BI) and Information Management on the Cloud for a global pharmaceutical company. HCL developed a next generation, highly scalable platform that enabled the integration of marketplace data, and enterprise and warehousing data together with affiliates’ sales data, for analysis and reporting. This cloud-based, robust and secure platform leverages public cloud services from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and has a powerful data processing layer that can leverage elastic computing. HCL also enabled Mobile BI through analytical tools that can visualize and analyze each affiliate’s reports which can be downloaded from smart devices.

HCL solves the data challenges of a well-established UK retail bank offering a wide range of consumer banking products. HCL integrated the bank’s multiple reporting systems across its finance, risk, HR and procurement departments into one transparent system with an ability to analyze data in real-time. HCL implemented the latest SAP financial consolidation, BI analytics and common reporting platform (based on SAP BFC, BW and Business Objects) for the bank’s corporate functions across these departments and provided the ability to access both historic and recent data stored within the BW systems.
