HCL's ICD-9 to 10 Transition Services
Regulations were published which finalized the proposal to replace the ICD-9-CM (Clinical modification) code set with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS with a compliance date of October 1st 2013 in United States of America. O-Organize Phase:- HCL uses it’s eXact Methodology (eXplore, Analyze, Craft and Transform) to calculate the impact across all the applications and processes of the entire enterprise and accordingly defines the TO-BE landscape. Based on the impact analysis remediation plan is finalized.
D-Deploy Phase:- Based on the remediation plan which covers all the tasks and activities system enhancements are done
- System Upgrade:- The system upgrade is done as per the impact assessment report at all the levels from database to screen.
- Testing:- HCL has proprietary test automation tools and a compliance testing toolkit consisting of library of testing scenarios & test cases at unit, system and functional level.
- Crosswalk Solution:- This phase also includes the deployment of Crosswalk reimbursement Solution as per the Organization need and requirement.

During the transition phase, the upgraded applications and workflows will start working and the new system will support both ICD-9 and 10 codes till the cut off date for use of ICD-9.
E-Educate Phase:- HCL has well defined training program which can be tailored as per the organization needs. Training material will be shared which will include code description tables, system enhancements and reference manuals to help participants gain a better understanding of the new coding system.
