Situation
  • The client is a Frankfurt based global bank
  • Sumit from HCL was helping the client as part of the support team
Problem
  • Sumit’s client took over a smaller bank in Netherland and therefore needed to integrate its billing application
  •  The billing program was very slow and there was a potential risk of losing the new clients, as the bank itself was at the brink of a system failure
Solution
  • Sumit’s team worked, analyzed, fine-tuned and redesigned the necessary oracle packages
Impact
  • The idea brought the bill run time down, from 8 days, to 48 hours
  • With more analysis, fine tuning and redesigning, the bill run time was further reduced to 2 hours

Problem

Solution
  • Alan redeveloped the XSD validator that would empower the user to use it more effectively
  • Alan was successful in resetting the file size to Unlimited
  • He also shifted the SEPA Payment Engine to the desktop, making it locally available and not linked to the server
Impact
  • Users were now confident that they would get the same result as the SEPA engine
  • With a first step validation, XSD queries nearly vanished with only real and complex queries being directed to Alan and his team

  •  This limitation was slowing down the efficiency at times of heavy testing traffic
Solution
  • Deepshikha’s idea was to reduce the number of machines and consle date multiple testing on a single computer
  • This way one machine could work on two applications, which made it easy to test the machines and run different operating systems on them simultaneously
