BAIT

HCL deploys the Business Aligned IT (BAIT) framework to discover evaluate and rationalize the customer's IT landscape, and achieve alignment to his business objectives. HCL uses a proprietary Enterprise Discovery Framework (EDFTM 3.0) to facilitate enterprise discovery and consequently mapping of business processes to IT applications. The business impact of BAIT manifests in increased IT visibility and availability leading to better planning, reduced redundancy, enhanced processes and cost efficiency through superior business-IT alignment.

HCL uses the BAIT framework in its entirety in a typical Total Outsourcing (TOS) situation in which HCL assumes responsibility for the complete IT portfolio and services. However, in an engagement where managed services addresses only a subset of the entire IT portfolio of the customer, HCL leverages the appropriate components of the Business Aligned IT framework to wherever HCL has play. In a scope limited to applications only, APO or Applications Portfolio Optimization typically becomes one of the most relevant transformational initiatives. HCL uses its proprietary tool, PRIZM^TM for analyzing the application portfolio and providing recommendations for rationalization.
