The history of HCL’s relationship with Japan goes back to nearly 3 decades ago (1977, to be precise) when HCL started selling Toshiba copiers in India.
From an IT perspective, HCL started its Japan operations in 1996, under the name "HCL Technologies Japan Ltd". In 2005, we were again rechristened as "HCL Japan Ltd." as part of the global strategy to brand HCL as one "Enterprise" with many services ranging from Application Development, Support and Maintenance to Engineering and RD services, Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).
