Job Description

Responsibilities:

                             

  • Should have proven expertise in DC planning, Effort Estimation and implementation of enterprise UNIX servers with application hosting know how.
  • Create and deliver an Enterprise Blueprint that effectively translates a business vision into an UNIX Enterprise solution roadmap in a pre-sales and execution and customer acquisition context
  • Playing pivotal role in UNIX H/W sizing, capacity planning, UNIX hosting architecture Sign off from client
  • Possess UNIX multi-vendor product know how with pro and Con to arrive at best infrastructure with OS level implication.
  • Should be expert and design Cluster based on Geo level, multi DC, Storage integration, Cluster FS, understand application design complexity and product fitment from H/W, S/W, costing perspective
  • Possess and demonstrate expertise on various UNIX platform migration planning, implementation and effort estimation across all UNIX H/W.(Vmware/KVM/LDOM/Zone/HP-VM)
  • DR Planning with integration of Storage, Network, Application considering pre-defined RTO/RPO to full fill strict SLA.
  • UNIX product experts on Chassis, Blade, Rack mount servers and possess sound knowledge of evolving technology.Cloud technology integration with UNIX via various vendor offering on API, Hosting, private Vs public, design/implement/Suggest cloud model keeping  business goal
  • Part of pre/Post Sale team fo RFP, DD, Migration, Transformation, consolidation technology tower lead to understand new business scope and drive to create winning pitch for HCL with synergy, reuse and value of infrastructure solutions
  • Person should have good knowledge of Contracts & vendor management, ability to manage vendor relationship and touchpoints
  • Person should have proven expertise to work and plan High Performance Computing environment (HPC) for compute intensive application
  • Ability to articulate and effectively manage the competitive analysis for all transformations from cost and effort prespective
  • Should be technical evangelist to act as last point of technical esclation across HCL to resolve and come with client with comfort to analyze from network, Storage, H/W and application bottleneck. Draw line of standard and best practice in the environment. Person should have good knowledge of Contracts & vendor management, ability to manage vendor relationship and touchpoints
  • Person should have proven expertise to work and plan High Performance Computing environment (HPC) for compute intensive application
  • Advises senior business and technical clients on their system, storage, hosting, and security architectures
  • Articulates the impact to the operational, business, performance, and security aspects of an organization that will result from proposed system architecture designs to senior level business and technical clients
    Audits the design or implementation of a system architecture and points out bottlenecks and potential improvements that could increase the fulfillment of non-functional system requirements
  • Person should have proven expertise to work and plan High Performance Computing environment (HPC) for compute intensive application
  • Manages project teams, infrastructure vendor consultants/engineers, and client technologists in global and enterprise-level system architecture design and deployment

 

Technical Requirements                                           

  • Should possess knowledge on any of the two towers i.e Windows, Unix, Storage or Database, Network
  • Should be an architect or have performed role in similar exercise for atleast 4 years or above
  • Should be an Architect in his core domain, followed with L3 level exposure in a subsequent area of the same domain as well as expertise of any other domain/ tower
  • Must possess an in depth working knowledge of core domain and subsequent technology/ domain
  • Strong experience in design & implementing complex Data Center design involving heterogeneous technologies
  • Strong architecture experience in a Open Source environment
  • Responsible for architecture design of multi technology & data center solutions.
  • Facilitate Solution / Business Architects based on requirements from the business making use of existing IT capabilities and services in the company.
  • Expertise in both business and IT, leadership and negotiation skills, experience in governance, project management and economy, knowledge in enterprise architecture and business modeling

  • Planning and designing Linux server provisioning
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining Linux Servers
  • Planning and designing High availability soltion around Linux or Veritas Cluster
  • Installation and configuration of HA environment using Linux or Veritas Cluster.
  • Configuration and administration of Linux and Veritas logical volume manager.
  • Installing and Maintaining Linux Kickstart / AI environment
  • Patch and Package administration: Satellite Server, Yum
  • Writing shell scripts to acomplish day to day system administration task
  • Configuring and supporting HP C7000 Chassis, HP Blades/proliant/Rack Mount, IBM, Dell x86 Servers
  • Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue
  • Administer and configure various FS like Ext3/4, VxFS, XFS, Pseudo FS
  • Installation, configuration and management of IP and I/O Multipathing
  • Capacity planning and fine tune system for optimal performance
  • Understanding of SAN and NAS storage.
  • Should possess knowledge of Storage and Network towers.
  • Administration of NIS or LDAP environment
  • Configuring Unix Security baseline

  • Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning

  • Advance patch Management for large count UNIX/Linux Servers in Enterpirse Data Center using Satellite/opsware/BladeLogic
  • Advance Cluster set up using IO fencing, More than 3 nodes, Enterprise Storage Access, Multiple Fail Over scenario, geo Cluster, Across Chasis, custom Application service Group etc
  • UNIX Virtual servers (LPAR,LDOM,HP-VM,KVM) Architecture Design inclusing H/W, Resource Assignation etc
  • Planning and Testing Disaster recovery solution.
  • Server Migration planning for P2P, P2V,V2V
  • problem Analysis and Resolution for mass issue and latest technology upgrade in environment based on business goals
  • Architecture design for HLD, LLD, BOM finalization for Enterpise Data center Server hosting
