- The customer decided to standardize on TIBCO as the de facto middleware solution for all its integration needs. The exception to this rule is only when there are extensive EDI transformations involved (for which GIS is considered a more appropriate tool).
- The goal of the TIBCO project—to integrate systems likeLogsPro, TPM-Gelco, KAF Canada, UPS, OHL and UCCNet with SAP.
- There were a total of 35 interfaces that needed to be developed in this project. Of these, 22 were move-only interfaces. The end systems ensured that they provided the necessary files. TIBCO did not have to do any transformation on the data, but ensured reliable delivery with a good level of monitoring, auditing and logging features implemented.
- The other 13 interfaces were ‘map-and-move’. The end systems provided the files in the formats that are already in use. HCL will do the necessary transformation in TIBCO on the data to integrate the same with SAP. Some of the transformation is quite complex.
