HCL’s relationship with the client started way back in 2001 with just one of its operating companies in the product engineering space as a partner in medical device development.
Over a period of time, the relationship grew to a strategic partnership in achieving superior levels of product development. HCL was involved in the client’s core operations right from conceptualizing the design, testing the devices in FDA environment and manufacturing.
In over last six years, several IT, consulting, engineering, and Infrastructure projects has been executed for several customer group companies. Dedicated Offshore Development Centers were established for Documentum and ATG - key products for customer’s portal framework. Experience in executing Centers of Excellence was also leveraged in key areas of interest to the client like SAP, Business Intelligence, Microsoft, JD Edwards, etc.
HCL understood client business needs well and through its domain expertise in Healthcare and Life sciences and expertise across technology reduced the drug/ device development cycle time and go-to-market time of drugs/ devices. Costs were brought down by executing 80% of the projects offshore, which was made possible only by being involved right from the conceptualization to manufacturing stage, providing the client the support right through FDA submissions.
HCL, having started its relationship with the client in the product engineering space, is a strategic partner who not only develops medical devices, but today partners with the client in terms of sharing its new product development vision.

The IT Transformation team from HCL studied the client’s situation, performed research on IT and business trends and defined the services approach in order to help their IT organization identify and define actions to optimize cost, reduce waste and improve effectiveness.
