The lack of transparency is fast becoming a key challenge for the airline industry driven by a complex value network and IT landscape. The responsibility of driving transparency across the value network and within the enterprise lies with IT. As the Airline industry continues to become more transparent, the opportunities and challenges associated with such initiatives will increase exponentially.

Today, the customers’ increasing demands revolve around innovation, agility and visibility. The need for enterprise transparency in the airlines industry has been ushered in with connectivity and data, primarily driven by the increasing impact of mobility. Customers, partners and employees all demand transparency in their interaction with an airline.

Hospitality

The lack of transparency is fast becoming a key challenge for the Hospitality Industry driven by a competitive environment and a complex IT landscape. The responsibility of driving transparency across the value network and within the enterprise lies with IT. As the Hospitality industry continues to become more transparent, the opportunities and challenges associated with such initiatives will increase exponentially.

Today, the customers’ increasing demands revolve around innovation, agility and visibility.   The need for enterprise transparency in the Hospitality industry has been ushered in with connectivity and data, primarily driven by the increasing impact of mobility. Customers, partners and employees all demand transparency in their interaction with a Hotel.

Hotels are in a unique position to be transparent and positively impact the customer experience since their customer’s experience has many touch points.  Not enabling transparency at touch points can potentially lead to a poor experience and lack of loyalty.  For example: upgrades are an important perk for frequent travellers but the policies around processing those upgrades can be very different for different hotels in the same chain.  If a customer doesn’t get an upgrade quickly this can lead to unnecessary friction with the customer.
