Innova Reporting- An innovative concept
Innova reporting is a innovative concept where all data reporting is done by system not by a resource.In Innova reporting the reporting is done by the system not by human. First a string is created in MS-Excel 2007 (sheet A) which has the connecting path with ticket database. A separate macro written in MS-Excel 2007 (sheet B) works as a scheduler. After a specific interval the scheduler invokes the string to fetch the data from database. This activity takes 1-5 min and raw data gets stored in sheet A. Another macro uses the raw data separately and builds the reports as per metrics defined by customer. At the last a snapshot along with report goes to all recipients (defined) via MS-Outlook automatically.
The macro, in case of Remedy creates auto login at specific intervals to fetch the current data and prepare report. This activity takes only 1-2 minute and as an outcome an automatic email goes to all concerned stakeholders in few seconds. In other OMCs where ticketing tool is not in HCL control, the user does the 1st part manually i.e. fetching data and rest is handled by system itself.
