2013 at HCL will be all about innovation, particularly in the area of disruptive technologies. We are leading the way with enterprise mobility, where we strive to provide a full range of enterprise mobility solution offerings. To support this goal, in December we finalized an exclusive Global Managed Mobility Partnership deal with SAP, the market leader in enterprise mobility, to provide our clients with robust and cost-effective mobility solutions.
The mobile marketplace today is large and growing rapidly. Analysts estimate that mobility services will grow at an annual rate of 23% for the next four years, to approximately $12.2bn. The growth is expected to be consistent across three major areas: mobile applications, mobile enterprise application platforms (MEAP), and mobile device management (MDM). HCL understands that clients have a significant need for a partner that can provide a broad variety of cost-effective and proven mobility services. HCL has been a mobility partner for more than 12 years and for more than 450 companies, providing devices, custom development, testing and deployment of mobile applications and devices, and has created more than 70 use-case mobile accelerators to meet a variety of business requirements. Our track record in enterprise mobility plus our new alignment with SAP make us uniquely qualified to provide the breadth of mobile services that clients need.
Partnership with SAP
The managed mobility partnership with SAP permits us to resell, implement and host industry-leading SAP platforms, including SAP mobile applications, the Sybase Unwired Platform, Afaria and Syclo. It also provides us with access to licenses at discounts of up to 90% of list, thereby allowing us to provide the cost-effective solutions customers are seeking. In addition to the license discount and reseller capability, the deal will enable us to plan and execute joint “Go-To-Market” campaigns in cooperation with SAP.
HCL is a full-service mobile solutions provider, from strategy, to application development and integration, to hosting and application support. With the SAP partnership, HCL will now offer a single mobility-related offering called “Managed Mobility,” which includes road mapping, mobile application development, mobile application management, mobile application testing and mobility outsourcing. Customers will be able to choose one or several individual components. Future offerings will include the development of bundled solutions specific to particular industries and lines of business. Through our managed mobility offering, we look forward to developing more long-term relationships with our clients and providing for their every mobility need.
