At HCL, we believe in a positive workplace where diversity goes beyond differences that stem from gender, nationality, culture, ethnicity, age, or the differing abilities of individuals. We believe that it is about recognizing the differences that exist within our employees, harnessing and synergizing them, and creating an environment that is conducive to bring out the best.
Our CEO is the primary custodian of our Equal Employment Opportunity initiative and the Principal Diversity Officer is responsible for coordinating the company’s efforts to implement and disseminate the diversity plan. Our recruitment and promotion policy is based on meritocracy and ability to learn, adapt, and assimilate to change.
Employee Affinity Networks
Women Connect Network
Women Connect is a collaborative network, which aims to advocate an inclusive and gender-neutral work environment where every individual has the opportunity to contribute, suggest policies, and lead change initiatives. Women Connect enhances a woman’s individual and professional growth, which in turn contributes to the success of our company. It facilitates the sharing of best practices, creating role models for change, and building a pipeline of gifted women leaders. Some of the interesting programs include Café Coffee, Stepping Stones and Coaching, and HCL Worldwide Connect Us Copyright © 2014 HCL Technologies Limited mentorship programs through the Women Leadership Team, an affinity network for women leaders. We have published a book 'Believe', which provide insights into what makes women in HCL successful and their contribution to our growth. In addition, we offer career counseling and other resources through www.womenlead.hcltech.com.
Symphony Network for Cultural Assimilation
In order to ‘live inclusivity’, ideapreneurs are put through sensitizing workshops and given access to tools that helps them sustain and build relationships based on mutual trust and respect. We have multiple sites in our intranet and social portals for employees to blog about their cultural experiences and learn from each other.
Employees can report any discriminatory/harassment in the work place through SECURE, which is a Prevention of Sexual Harassment Workplace initiative. Any suggestions/ situations relating to code of conduct can be shared with firstname.lastname@example.org, a forum to help employees manage ethical dilemmas.
We are a member of the World Economic Forum and active in the task force relating to gender parity and social upliftment. Furthermore, we conduct a series of panel discussions on 'Rebalancing the Workplace for Sustainability', to discuss and leverage diversity for tomorrow's company every year.
Heritage Months: We recognize the contributions of our employees across geographies, by marking Heritage months. We celebrate ‘Black History’ month and 'Hispanic Heritage' month with a themed series of programs representing the importance of these cultures and recognizing the significant achievements made by these communities to the society. Moreover, the celebrations educate our employees on the heritage and customs followed by people from different cultures.
