IT consumerization, workforce mobility, social media & flexible computing are changing the relationship between enterprise IT, knowledge workers and end users dramatically. This dynamism of the IT environment brings out numerous opportunities along with certain challenges. For the chief information officer (CIO), IT consumerization and proliferation represents the confluence of a difficult set of unprecedented challenges and business strategy.

With the rapid evolution of cloud computing to becoming a more mainstream option, the advances in mobile computing platforms that need to access both sides of the traditional firewall as well as newer developments in the worlds of data analytics all enhanced by a much more social interchange of communication, IT management is currently faced with the most broad and diverse set of challenges the industry has ever experienced.

At the same time the cloud concept combined with personal experiences of mobile and social computing is driving business owner expectations of internal IT to new levels of capability, agility and cost-effectiveness, creating a hugely challenging time for CIO's.

However there are best practices emerging across the region on how to tackle some of these challenging tasks and ensuring that the CIO's are not only more aligned to what their business users are seeking, but also able to share some key approaches to how to engage with these new concepts and technologies in a manner that is both in keeping with the existing IT environments but also drives a more cohesive business culture within IT organizations.

HCL is participating in the IDC Cloud conference and will impart values to the audience with its thought leadership in the area of the Enterprise IT Operating Model of the future, a rapidly emerging innovative approach around SMAC (Social, Mobility, Analytics / BigData & Cloud) and its Impact on Enterprise IT Operating Model. This represents the future ecosystem that today’s enterprises are facing and has a direct impact on the Application Landscape and Enterprise IT Platforms as well as their Operating Model and Manage the Service Lifecycle".
