SWOT Assessment: HCL's Digital Value Chain Transformation Services: Report by Ovum
Ovum's 2017/18 ICT Enterprise Insights survey revealed that 17% of premium content owners (TV networks, film studios, pureplay OTT, and digital service providers) have moved at least one of their content supply chain modules onto IP in the past 12–18 months. Enterprises embracing a digital-userfirst strategy need to ensure personalized, interactive, connected, and consistent engagement anywhere, everywhere. The migration of content supply chain modules to IP is essential to ensuring next-generation digital user engagement. This is driving a need for large system integrators (SIs) with vertically and horizontally integrated ICT services to support IP workflows across the content supply chain.
HCL has adapted its media ICT services portfolio to meet the changing transformation needs of premium content owners. It has implemented a "Mode 1-2-3" strategy, focusing on cloud, analytics, and content supply chain IP workflows, to reduce its dependence on its legacy on-premises infrastructure and linear broadcast engineering business activities.
Working closely with technology partners, the company offers a portfolio of digital value chain transformation services providing tightly embedded digital user experience, analytics, cloud, security, and content supply chain workflow management capabilities on IP at a lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
