Kevin Chase is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Energy Future Holdings, a Dallas-based privately held company with a portfolio of competitive and regulated energy companies, including Luminant, Oncor and TXU Energy that serve the high-growth Texas electricity market.
Kevin is a proven IT leader with 20+ years experience, focused on enabling business success with strategic technology solutions for the largest power generator and largest retail electric provider in the state of Texas.
Beginning with his role as CIO at TXU Energy in 2008 and continuing in his role as SVP and CIO over EFH, Luminant and TXU Energy since 2011, Kevin has focused on developing a strong leadership team, streamlining a global IT organization, modernizing the infrastructure and standardizing the enterprise application architecture. With continued improvements over the past several years, IT OPEx has reduced significantly and enabled increased investment in new innovations that are transforming the business and driving historical best results across business and IT operations.
Kevin and his team have received significant industry recognition, including a 21st Century Laureate by Computerworld in 2010 and 2011, CIO-100 Award Winners in 2010 and 2012 for Innovation and Transformation, recognition by InformationWeek500 each of the past several years plus individual recognition by ExecRank and Computerworld "Premier 100" for being among the Top CIOs nationally.
Prior to joining Energy Future Holdings, Kevin served as Vice President over the management and strategic consulting practice at Black & Veatch, a global engineering, consulting and construction company in the energy, telecom, water and govt. sectors. Earlier in Kevin’s career, he was a Sr. Manager at Accenture for 7 years, leading enterprise and customer system implementations for some of the largest energy companies in North America. In 1999, Kevin left Accenture to co-found Fortegra, growing it into a $40M management consulting practice that was acquired by Black & Veatch in 2005.
Professional and Civic Involvement
Kevin is a member of the MIS and Energy Innovation Advisory committees at The University of Texas in Austin as well as serving on the MIS Distinguished Advisory Committee for the Engineering School at SMU in Dallas. Kevin also serves on Advisory Committees for The CIO Institute, Gartner, AT&T and CIO Executive Summit.
Kevin graduated Cum Laude with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 1992 with a BBA in Marketing.
Kevin and his wife, Stacey, have three kids and are actively involved with GRACE, a local charity in their community, as well as The Tocqueville Society of The United Way and the Dean’s Circle at The University of Texas.
