Read about how HCL helped implement a digital transformation program for a leading chemical manufacturer, with its SAP on Azure solutions. In 2016, the chemical manufacturer completed a major acquisition of a huge chlorine plant, a move that significantly increased the number of employees and dramatically expanded the business operations of the client in the US and in more than 20 countries.
To efficiently fulfill the demands of the new landscape, there was a need for a global digital transformation program that included the implementation of a new standardized ERP platform, new solutions for manufacturing and engineering, and additional capabilities to make IT Infrastructure more reliable, globally. HCL entered into an agreement with the customer, to make the existing SAP S/4
HANA environment more flexible, reliable, and agile. HCL developed a focused strategy to host and migrate SAP and non-SAP workloads on HCL’s private cloud. HCL also ensured business continuity of IT systems by setting up a temporary environment on the public cloud platform.
The customer is a US-based manufacturer of ammunition, chlorine, sodium hydroxide and a leading distributor of multiple chemical products around the globe. The company employs more than 6000 professionals and is present in more than 100 countries.
