Client: Leading Provider of Workers Compensation Insurance based in Montana, USA.

Business Problem

The client was facing significant challenges with their legacy claims management application – Reduced or no support from the OEM; Fading technical skills required to maintain the system; Legacy system not able to keep pace with business growth; Leakages within Claims Settlements.

HCL’s Solution Overview

After a comprehensive study of different solutions available in the market, HCL recommended ClaimCenter, a modern web-based claim processing solution from Guidewire Software.

HCL’s Role involved:

  • “To-Be” architecture definition
  • Business Rules configuration
  • Product Integration/ System Integration
  • Data Migration/Conversion [Over 400,000 Claims were migrated]
  • Upgrade of Guidewire ClaimCenter from Version 3 to Version 4

The solution was implemented in three parallel streams: Product Configuration, Integration with peripheral systems and Data Conversion/ Migration.

Keeping in mind the importance of each and the nature of the task, Configuration and Integration was done onsite and conversion was done as an offshore activity since it required significant development work.
