Additive Manufacturing (AM) of Metals is no longer limited to Rapid Prototyping (RP) but has become one of the most promising contender for Rapid Manufacturing (RM). Considerable efforts have been put forth by research community globally to exploit the benefits offered by this technology. However, Metal AM by virtue of its process characteristic is quite different from other manufacturing technologies and so is the Design for Additive Manufacturing. It requires an interdisciplinary approach and scientific understanding of process to leverage the benefits offered by the technology to its fullest.
