SEMICON India 2026

Overview

India's semiconductor story is entering its most decisive chapter yet.

Backed by the ₹1.28 lakh crore Semicon 2.0 outlay and the India Semiconductor Mission, the country is moving from policy to production — new fabs, the first outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facilities and a display-driver ecosystem taking shape around hubs like YEIDA. The opportunity to build capacity and manufacture in India has never been greater.

HCLTech brings 30+ years of heritage across chip and equipment lifecycles, powered by AI platforms already transforming the world's leading semiconductor enterprises. This year, that heritage stands beside India Chip — HCL Group's ₹3,706 crore joint venture with Foxconn, building India’s first Display Driver Focussed OSAT facility in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh.

Join us at Booth 946, SEMICON India 2026, to see how and India Chip are moving India's semiconductor ecosystem from ambition to execution.

The Chip Behind Every Screen, Made in India

Established to advance India's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, India Chip, the HCL-Foxconn joint venture, represents a significant milestone in the nation's semiconductor ecosystem — a cornerstone project within the Government of India's India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Make in India and Digital India frameworks.

The facility in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, will be India's first OSAT facility dedicated to Display Driver IC (DDIC) technology — the semiconductors that power every screen, from mobile devices and tablets to televisions and automotive dashboards. The foundation stone was laid by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

Standard to Custom: The Silicon Behind AI Infrastructure

Custom silicon used to be the exception. For AI infrastructure, it's becoming the default. A conversation about what changed in the economics - and what it now takes to design, build and ship purpose-built compute at data-centre scale.

Spec to Silicon: Designing Chips at the Speed of AI

How far can AI genuinely compress design and verification cycles - and what does that do to first-silicon confidence? A candid look at where the speed gains are real, and where they aren't.

Design to Deployment: When the Chip Is Only Part of the System

A chip rarely fails alone - it fails in a board, a package, a thermal envelope, a system. As designs get denser and more heterogeneous, verification is moving beyond the die. What does it take to design silicon that works in the world it will actually live in?

Idea to Fab: Building a Semiconductor Startup in India

India has the policy, the funding and the ambition. What's it actually like to build a semiconductor company here - what works, what's still hard, and what would change the game for the next founder?

The Silicon Shift

A first-of-its-kind global thought leadership report on how non-semiconductor enterprises are rewriting chip demand.

As enterprises build serious silicon capability in-house, HCLTech commissioned independent research conducted by Coleman Parkes, uncovering how industries that were once purely chip buyers are becoming chip builders.

The findings launch on Day 1 morning at SEMICON India's dedicated press launch area, drawing national and trade media coverage, in front of industry leaders and policymakers shaping India's semiconductor mission.
