Roles and Responsibilities

• Create and maintain all databases required for development, testing education and production usage.
• Perform capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases. Closely with system administration / Infra staff to understand the landscape of the Oracle Physical Server and databases.
• Proactively monitoring the database's health and taking preventive or corrective action as required
• Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support
• Performs ongoing tuning of the database instances.
• Install new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database.
• Plans and implements backup and recovery of the Oracle database

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
• Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products
• Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
• Take care of the Database design and implementation
• Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
• Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
• Perform application tuning and performance monitoring
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards
• Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
• Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support
• Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
• Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
• Patch Management and Version Control
• Implementation of High availability in Oracle Environment– RAC, Dataguard, Clustering, Golden Gate
• Disaster Recovery Plan,Shell Scripting knowledge,Database Migration / Upgrades
