Steve Cardell heads business across diversified industries as well as Enterprise Application Services (EAS) and Enterprise Transformation Services (ETS) at HCL. His key objective is to move HCL more dynamically into Systems Integration and cloud offerings in the Applications Services market. In this role, he manages business size of revenue equivalent to $2.7 billion.
Earlier, as head of HCL’s Enterprise Application Services practice, Steve ran a practice spanning the globe with over 7,000 consulting professionals operating out of more than 30 countries. A central component of the growth strategy of the practice is the recruitment, retention and development of some of the most experienced consultants in the industry.
Formerly the CEO of AXON solutions, having joined the Board in 2003 as Chief Operating Officer, Steve refocused AXON from being a UK-based technical SAP systems implementer to being the foremost global practitioner of outcome based SAP-enabled business transformation – an accomplishment recognized by SAP’s COO, Ernie Gunst, who praised Axon’s engagement with City of Birmingham as being the ‘Best example of SAP-enabled transformation’ he had witnessed. Under Steve’s leadership, Axon’s bookings trebled, profit increased fivefold and the stock rose almost 250%.
Prior to AXON, he was a Director in Bywater, the business consultancy that AXON acquired in 2001. He has been an advisor for a wide range of national and international companies, including Orange, BP, Birmingham City Council, Thames Water, Britvic, Pratt & Whitney, Yell, Vodafone, Borealis, Transport for London, NHS and United Utilities.
Steve holds business qualifications from Bath and the London Business School.
