Asset Management Specialist
Qualification Required:
IT Asset Management:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining best-practice standards, processes, systems, and performance metrics to effectively manage the organization’s IT asset portfolio in alignment with risk, cost, control, IT governance, compliance, and business performance objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements asset management standards, policies, and procedures.
- Plans and manages the population of asset management libraries, tools, and data; ensures accuracy and currency of asset records.
- Defines and applies best practices for updating asset data through both automated and manual processes.
- Establishes and enforces standards, policies, and procedures for planning, recording, monitoring, and maintaining hardware assets.
- Defines success metrics and monitors asset management processes to ensure effectiveness.
- Prepares and delivers IT asset reports based on business and operational requirements.
- Provides coaching and training on asset management practices, emphasizing integration with change management and other IT processes.
- Collaborates with IT process owners and cross-functional teams (e.g., Change Management, Problem Management, Release Management).
- Evaluates industry trends, innovations, and maturity models to recommend new technologies and process improvements.
- Assists with audits of asset management activities; ensures compliance with policies and oversees corrective actions as needed.
- Establishes and enforces consistent naming conventions for object types, environments, processes, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases, and templates.
- Leads awareness campaigns to drive adoption of asset management procedures; ensures changes are reviewed, approved, communicated, and implemented effectively.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of ITSM best-practice processes, with proven experience in Asset Management.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard Change and Asset Management tools currently in use.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of ITSM best-practice processes with proven Asset Management experience.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard Change and Asset Management tools.
- Experience leading technical and functional discussions.
- Solid understanding of the pressures and demands of working in large, complex technical environments.
- English proficiency: 85% (C1 level).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
