VMware Engineer Job Description
This job requires a mixture of engineering, operations, and support. Qualified candidates must have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Major responsibility includes building, managing, operating, and migrating Storage and Virtualization assets in global data centers and hybrid cloud environments. The individual will work closely with local, global, and cross functional teams to evaluate business needs and ensure smooth and efficient operations of Jefferies Global Storage and Virtualization environment in a hybrid multi cloud era.


Required:
Good knowledge and hands on experience on Vcenter and Vsphere ESXi 6.x/7.x
Must be able to build ESXi hosts and clusters using host profiles. Must be able to independently manage clusters.
Good hands-on experience VMware SRM is must.
Good hands-on experience VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, storage vMotion.
Good hands-on experience and troubleshooting of VMWare memory management, Data store management.
Must be able to troubleshoot performance issues and provide recommendations.
Knowledge of TCP/IP networks. Knowledge of ESXi multipathing.
Must be able to use vROPS/vRLI/vRNI for proactive and reactive analysis.
Knowledge of Cisco UCS and UCS Fabric Interconnects and/or HPE Synergy Blade Server Systems highly desirable.
Must have working knowledge about DR technologies and methodologies preferably NIMBLE and PURE
Good knowledge on Nutanix

Desired:
Experience with CLI and scripting technology (at least one) such as bash, PowerShell, Perl or Python is highly desirable. Any automation tool like Ansible is desirable.
Knowledge of RH Linux highly desirable.
Understanding of Any server blade HW systems.
Should be knowledgeable about networking concepts: basic TCP/IP, Solaris network commands, and / or Linux network commands, experience with netmasks and how to interpret them and tools used to troubleshoot network-related problems.
Knowledge of AWS, Azure, VMC (VMWare cloud with any cloud provider) cloud storage, cloud computing and cloud backup solutions desirable.
Should be able to push an motivate oneself to learn new skills.
Good knowledge of Cisco SAN/Fabric technologies

• To adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies
• To ensure positive customer experience and CSAT through First Call Resolution and minimum rejected resolutions / Reopen Cases
• To participate or contribute on EN business in creation of proposals to drive Service improvement plans.
• To independently resolve tickets & esnure that the agreed SLA of ticket volume and time are met for the team.
• To provide support for on call escalations /L3 level support and doing incident & problem management
• Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update & management, Training freshers, coaching analysts & conducting interviews/participation in hiring drives.
