The Challenge:

In today's digital-first entertainment landscape, traditional score updates and basic commentary no longer satisfy fans’ appetites for engagement. CA recognized that, to maintain its position as Australia’s premier cricket destination, it needed to deliver richer, more immersive experiences that provide meaningful context and storytelling around live matches.

The Objective:

The Challenge

Clifford Chance faced significant operational inefficiencies with lawyers spending excessive time on routine tasks like reading complex legal documents, writing briefs and summarizing meetings. Operating across the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa added to that complexity by requiring support for diverse, multilingual teams. Using traditional manual processes limited the firm's ability to scale operations and maintain quality across its extensive international network spanning multiple jurisdictions and legal systems. Clifford Chance needed a new, modernized approach.

The Objective

To meet its challenges head on, Clifford Chance had the ambition to pioneer AI adoption in the legal sector — while ensuring it maintains the highest standards of confidentiality and professional responsibility required of the law firm. The solution would need to enhance content generation capabilities as well as quickly and accurately summarize complex data sources without compromising quality or security; improve collaboration such as through scenario modeling; and provide live transcripts for non-native English colleagues and staff with accessibility needs.

The Solution

HCLTech implemented a comprehensive AI platform leveraging Azure AI Foundry. Azure AI Cloud Services — including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search and Translator Services — were utilized to onboard internal data and prepare for AI/machine learning innovation. Visualizations and dashboards are powered and monitored by Power BI. Azure Cloud Scale Analytics and Data Visualization Services leveraged stretched across Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen 2/Blob Storage, Azure Database, PostGre, SQL and LogAnalytics.

The platform collects and analyzes data from across other Microsoft applications — including Copilot and Viva Suite — to automate and improve tasks for both employees and clients and the data is securely stored, processed and managed in Microsoft Azure OpenAI.

Built with Trustworthy AI principles, it features end-to-end encryption, authentication and auditing capabilities. All AI-generated legal outputs undergo lawyer validation and are clearly identified as AI-assisted, ensuring transparency and accountability. This solution was also showcased and validated as part of the AI/machine learning on Azure specialization audit review process, alongside Microsoft Responsible AI assessment.

The Impact

Clifford Chance was one of the first global organizations to deploy both Copilot for Microsoft 365 and Viva Suite at scale across its entire workforce, leading to time savings, cost savings and increased efficiency across the firm. The Challenge

Kaiser Permanente physicians faced a critical operational bottleneck: navigating over 20,000 internal guidelines during 20-minute patient consultations required them to step away from direct patient interaction to undertake time-consuming manual searches averaging 5 minutes per query. Half of these searches were abandoned due to time pressures, creating clinical inconsistency risks, heightened physician burnout and — critically — diminished patient care quality.

This systemic challenge extended well beyond workplace efficiency. Rogers faced a critical operational disruption with the December 2024 decommissioning of Nuance Voicemail to Text service, requiring immediate migration to maintain seamless customer experiences across Rogers’ vast telecommunications network. The challenge demanded a solution that could handle fluctuating workloads, support English and French languages, maintain enterprise-grade security compliance and provide real-time transcription capabilities without service interruption for millions of Canadian subscribers.

The Objective

There was opportunity to transform this migration challenge into an innovation differentiator. Rogers aimed to create a future-proof, scalable voicemail transcription platform that would enhance customer experience while positioning itself to leverage advanced AI capabilities for future telecommunications innovations and maintain competitive advantage in the Canadian market.

The Solution

HCLTech customized Microsoft's Open-Source Code for V2TIC, integrating Azure AI Speech service with Azure AI Foundry foundations. The solution features containerized deployment on Azure Kubernetes Service with dual-region active-active architecture across Canada Central and East. The solution uses existing relay servers available in Rogers that use CISCO SMTP Relay Appliance for this relay.

Built with Trustworthy AI principles, it includes Azure Private Endpoints for secure communication, commitment tier pricing optimization, and comprehensive monitoring through Dynatrace and Azure Monitor for proactive maintenance and automatic failover capabilities.

Syneos Health faced critical operational bottlenecks in their pharmacovigilance operations: manual ICSR intake from emails, portals and scanned PDFs averaged 1-2 hours per case — creating significant delays in regulatory reporting. The process was highly error-prone, volume intensive, repetitive task, lacked multilingual NLP capabilities and couldn't scale during peak volumes surges, which risked impacting patient safety monitoring and regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical industry.

The Objective

Syneos Health needed to modernize its pharmacovigilance infrastructure to eliminate manual processing bottlenecks, improve case quality and compliance with regulations, and create a scalable solution that could handle fluctuating volumes while maintaining strict compliance standards for adverse event reporting.

The Solution

HCLTech implemented a comprehensive Gen AI platform using Azure OpenAI Service (GPT-4o) and Azure AI Document Intelligence for real-time adverse event extraction.
