HCL Power Hour
Today, telcos and service providers are under constant pressure to reduce network operation costs and improve network availability, while delivering more and better services. They aspire for AI/ML based network solutions that can collect relevant data from the 5G network infrastructure, so as to enable zero-touch configuration, auto-healing and auto-scaling. The key challenge each player has been facing is to analyze the right data in real time to measure, detect, report, and predict any incidents that may impact the network availability or the user experience in the 5G hybrid network. This is where service providers are expecting next-gen analytics, user experience, and AI/ML technologies to be embedded into devices, equipment and network functions in the telecom network ecosystem.

Name: Aamir Hussain | Designation: Chief Executive Officer, Collinear Networks
Bio: Aamir Hussain is the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Collinear Networks. Aamir has a long track record in the communications industry where he has spent over 28 years in multiple technology, operations and product development leadership roles.
Prior to joining Collinear Networks, Aamir was Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of CenturyLink, where he led the product development and technology organizations. While at CenturyLink, Aamir was instrumental in digitally transforming the customer facing and networking platforms into Software Defined Networks (SDNs) while driving broadband innovation through implementation of high capacity wireless and wireline technologies.
Prior to CenturyLink, Aamir held senior leadership roles with Liberty Global Europe, Telus Corporation, and Covad Communications (Megapath). Aamir has also served on numerous industry advisory boards and forums where he continues to help shape the future of communications networks.
Mr. Hussain holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of South Florida, a Masters of Electrical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and is an alumnus of Harvard University’s Executive Business Program.

Bio: As SVP & GM of Emerging Business, Ani and his team will leverage Mavenir’s existing and newly created solutions for 5G, IoT and digital transformation to generate new business opportunities for Mavenir in Enterprises and Industries. Offerings will include Enriched Communication, IoT and Private Networks, delivered with new business models, via a digital ecosystem of partners and channels.
Ani holds an MBA in International Business and a BE in Electronics and Communications and brings to the role over 20 years of experience in the ICT sector working for a number of multinationals and Fortune 500 companies. He has held roles spanning Sales, Business Development, Strategy, Commercial Management, Product Management, Portfolio Management, Operations, and R&D. Most recently he held the role of VP & Head of Strategy & Commercial Management for Business Area Digital Services at Ericsson.

Bio: Harpinder Matharu is Senior Director in Wired and Wireless Group at Xilinx where he manages the strategic and technical marketing team. His current focus area is 5G NR, Telco Cloud, Mobile Edge Compute, Converged Access and AI/ML applications for wired and wireless networks. He has more than 30 years of experience working in different capacities within the communications industry. Matharu has published many papers, spoken at industry events, and chaired standards technical and marketing forums.

Bio: With more than 20 years of Telecom and Media experience and work across 4 different continents, Girish is a global leader who is passionate about the ICT industry and has proven track record of success in the highly dynamic Mobile industry. Currently Girish is heading FWA, Cloud and Managed Services business for ADTRAN. Prior to joining ADTRAN, Girish has spent 22 years with Ericsson where he held several Senior Leadership positions across US, Europe, Africa and Asia. Girish holds an MBA in Corporate Finance and Masters in Computer Science from US.

Cloud Native Function Acceleration
Segment Routing over IPv6 Acceleration using Intel Programmable Card (PAC) in association with Bell Canada. This solution is based on an implementation of SRv6 protocol, which is an emerging technology designed to address the requirements of the new coming NFV/SDN based architecture with the advantage of providing one unified solution for various challenges like network programmability, service function chaining, protocol simplification, traffic engineering, mobile vs fixed convergence. This solution will provide the following main advantages to the Telecom Operator’s virtual installation environments:
- Greatly improve the data plane throughput while still using open HW platforms
- Allow for smooth network upgrade (future-proofness) of new SRv6 features without changing the HW installed base
BluGenie – Network Softwarization Platform
BluGenie enables management of architectural, functional and operational telco cloud requirements in a unified way, solving business/automation challenges of telecom operators and allied industries. It supports and helps in:
- Realization of a softwarized network service with embedded softwarized network functions
- Softwarized/virtualized network function lifecycle including development, test and release
- Network service lifecycle including design, test and deployment using softwarized network functions
