Job description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist with at least 8 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in implementing and managing ServiceNow SAM solutions, ensuring efficient and compliant software usage, and optimizing software license costs. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver optimal software asset management solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
ServiceNow SAM Implementation: Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of the ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) module, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
License Management: Manage software licenses, including procurement, compliance tracking, usage optimization, and renewal processes, ensuring all licenses are used efficiently and within regulatory compliance.
Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in SAM processes, workflows, and policies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risks.
Audit and Compliance: Conduct regular software audits, ensure compliance with vendor agreements, and prepare reports to prevent legal and financial exposure due to non-compliance.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with software vendors to maintain up-to-date knowledge of license terms, agreements, and negotiations.
Data Analysis: Analyze software usage data, identify underutilized or over-licensed software, and make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
Integration and Automation: Integrate SAM processes with other ServiceNow modules and external systems to automate data collection and reporting for better asset tracking and lifecycle management.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT, procurement, finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment with business objectives.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and deliver regular reports on software asset inventory, compliance status, and savings opportunities to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), with at least 5 years working with the ServiceNow SAM module.
Strong understanding of SAM principles, including software lifecycle management, license models, and compliance requirements.
Proven experience in implementing and managing the ServiceNow platform, particularly the SAM module.
Excellent knowledge of software license types, including enterprise agreements, cloud subscriptions, and perpetual licenses.
Strong understanding of ITIL and asset management best practices.
Experience with software audit processes and compliance reporting.
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or ServiceNow SAM certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with other ITSM modules in ServiceNow, such as IT Asset Management (ITAM), CMDB, and Incident Management.
Knowledge of additional software licensing tools or platforms (e.g., Flexera, Snow License Manager).
Strong project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
