The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) recognized HCL Technologies for its ‘Outstanding Contribution towards Indo-German Economic Relation 2015’. The coveted award was presented at the 59th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IGCC in Mumbai, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Martin Ney, German Ambassador to India and Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
HCL was honored for aiding the progress of the economic relationship between Germany and India with its numerous business engagements and investments in creating local operations in Germany. The company has significantly expanded its presence in the country by setting up three offices in Frankfurt, Munich and Walldorf. Since its incorporation in 1999, HCL’s headcount in Germany has grown by 120 times. HCL Germany employs a diverse workforce from 15 nationalities including German employees who form a third of HCL’s local workforce in the country.
HCL’s commitment to Germany is evident through its investment in a local delivery center in Frankfurt to provide services to German customers. The company’s key activities in Germany include engineering services, and innovative product development and implementation, leveraging the latest technologies and world-class lab infrastructure. The company lends to increasing R&D efficiency and development of advanced technology solutions for key players in the country.
Aligning itself to Germany’s initiative ‘Industries 4.0’, HCL signed an IoT engagement with a leading European Manufacturer to implement its next-gen business strategy. As a part of this multi-year engagement, HCL will develop a client specific platform and harness the intelligence from its industrial equipment commissioned globally. HCL’s IoT solutions and approach will aim to enable the customer’s drive for significant growth of their Services Business.
In addition to strengthening employment creation in Germany, HCL was recognized for its active engagement in business activities. The company participates in the German export market through client discussions and meetings, major events, mutual business delegations, industry summits, and industry bodies. HCL’s “Make in India” networking events, conducted in collaboration with the Consulate General of India at Frankfurt and Ludwigshafen, were attended by key German leaders and dignitaries.
