“Work has been hectic from the past few months. I desperately need a vacation.
The work is interesting though!
Cloud is the new battlefield. It would be a perfect breeding ground for transformational ideas and innovations.
I switched to cloud services at the right time.
What would be the ultimate cloud solution? Something that really benefits humanity”.
Mohan was in the midst of endless thoughts while laying on bed.
Two youths were sitting on a bench waiting for the train to arrive. Their faces bore an uncanny similarity. But their attire was entirely different. The first though tensed was well educated and settled. The second one in loose robes had a rather peaceful demeanour. The first one was engrossed in a book titled ‘Cloud Computing’. The second person grew curious.
“If you don’t mind, can you tell me something about cloud computing?” he asked.
Already annoyed by the train’s delay, the query from a stranger further infuriated him. “Seems there is no cure for nosiness,” he thought. However, keeping his cool, he said, “You won’t understand this complex technology. I will answer your question. But I have a condition. After every sentence, I want you to summarize what you have understood. I hate monologues.”
Cloud computing allows one to create self-healing and fault- tolerant systems
The second person smiled and nodded.
An interesting conversation then ensued:
First Person (FP): The first principle of cloud computing is based on utility model. The payment for service is linked to the consumption level, the way you pay for utilities like electricity. You need not own the power generation equipment but still get the service delivered to your doorsteps. Similarly in cloud computing, the equipment is owned and managed by a third-party, who provides computing services on lease.
Second Person (SP): I get that. It is similar to the fact that we all need to be there in the present moment. Living in the future brings misery and no point carrying past baggage.
FP: OK…ok. Maybe you understood. The second principle of cloud computing is that it allows infinite scaling. One can increase or decrease resource requirements dynamically without any constraints. The solution should support scaling.
SP: Interesting. We all have infinite potential. Our mind set is the only constraint on our abilities.
FP: Cloud computing creates self-healing and fault-tolerant systems. Even if the data centre in one region is down, the services can be provided from another region almost instantaneously without the user getting impacted. This creates robust architectures with minimal downtime.
SP: Meditation helps to remove impurities of the mind and helps to self-understand and self-correct.
FP: Cloud creates solutions that are attack resilient. Although computing power is provided over the internet, fully secured data is transferred from the provider’s facility. This data is fully secured as it is encrypted using industry-standard algorithms.
SP: If one is cantered, adverse action or word won’t have any effect. Being centred also helps in overcoming adverse situations and/or difficult personalities.
FP: Cloud services democratizes of computing power. The same set of resources is available to an individual as well as mega-corporations.
SP: There are no toll gates in the path to spirituality.
FP: Cloud provides an abstract interface where the user should not be concerned with how services implementation. Functionalities can be consumed using a friendly user interface or can be programmed by leveraging a set of well documented APIs.
SP: There is no benefit from overthinking. Enjoy every moment and don’t get entangled in worldly attachments.
FP: Cloud provides a range of resource options that suit every user needs. Some use it to create prototypes. Others use it to create production-grade systems.
SP: People utilize their life energy differently. Some serve their life purpose while others just exist.
Mohan suddenly woke up by some noise in the adjacent room. Then he realized about this strange dream.
“Why this dream? Does it mean anything? Who was the person with loose robes?” He pondered while rubbing his eyes.
“At least, the dream has given me a direction. I have clarity regarding ultimate cloud solution,” he chuckled.
To be continued……..
