HCLSoftware

AI Adoption simplified with XDO

Having firmly established itself as one of the largest enterprise software providers, HCLSoftware is embedding AI across its portfolio to drive measurable business outcomes, including higher productivity, improved reliability and faster decision making.

XDO Blueprint: The Operating Model for AI-Era Enterprise Transformation

HCLSoftware continues to leverage its XDO (eXperience, Data, Operations) blueprint as the foundation for AI-era enterprise transformation. As organizations increasingly seek to unify experiences, act on data and create resilient operations, XDO becomes the lens through which we define value, structure our offerings and take them to market.

A key differentiator in this journey is the convergence of software and services. Products enable functionality and services enable capability — XDO serves as the blueprint that brings both together, empowering clients to create outcome-driven platforms rather than integrate siloed components. By harmonizing experience, process and technology layers, XDO acts as the connective glue across digital, engineering, cloud and AI and as the primary instrument we use to quantify and establish value. This is how we articulate our differentiation: we deliver outcomes, not components; assembled platforms, not isolated tools; and integrated value, not siloed capabilities. XDO converts both into platforms delivered “as a service” through a catalog-based consumption model, so clients buy outcomes on their own terms.

As demand for integrated, outcome-focused technology intensifies, HCLSoftware sits at the center of this shift, delivering secure, sovereign and scalable solutions that power AI-led digital transformation.

To support this vision, HCLSoftware continues to evolve toward a portfolio-led operating model focused on its XDO blueprint with strategic growth areas: eXperience (X), Collaboration (L), Intelligent Operations (IO), Data (D), IPP and Specialized Software. Each portfolio is being enhanced with new-age AI and Agentic AI capabilities, reinforcing our commitment to product innovation and enterprise-grade transformation to help enterprises automate decisions, augment human productivity and drive continuous optimization.

eXperience (X) portfolio brings together client, employee and digital experiences to create more personalized and intelligent engagement models. Some of the major AI-led enhancements delivered in FY26 are:

  • HCL Unica+ strengthened its AI-first positioning with AI-driven insights, intent recognition and automation.
  • New Agentic AI capabilities (Max AI) help marketers orchestrate campaigns, generate recommendations and optimize journeys faster.
  • Commerce AI enhances testing, reduces manual effort and improves HCL Commerce quality.
  • HCL Volt MX v10 introduced AI innovations like RAG in Volt IQ, Figma-to-Iris design import, car apps and built-in governance within Volt Foundry, bringing intelligence and control by design.

The Sovereign Collaboration (L) portfolio delivers trusted solutions that provide enterprises with greater control over data and communications. The release of Domino 14.5 (BSI Germany–certified) and Domino IQ, an offline sovereign AI extension, reinforces secure collaboration capabilities while enabling governments and regulated organizations to adopt AI-driven productivity within compliant and governed environments.

The Intelligent Operations (IO) portfolio enables enterprises to enhance resilience, asset performance and decision-making through AI-driven insights and automation. FY26 saw the introduction of several key updates and a few major AI-driven enhancements, including:

  • HCLSoftware strengthened security and compliance with AppScan 360º 2.0 and launched the HCL AppScan Marketplace to simplify client purchasing.
  • HCL BigFix Cloud Lifecycle Management improved cloud operations.
  • HCL iControl v4.1 introduced Digital Twin integration and advanced decision intelligence.
  • Agentic AI further accelerated operational efficiency, with HCL UnO Agentic Builder and Orchestrator enabling agent development and HCL BigFix AEX v12 advancing enterprise-scale adoption of Agentic AI.

The Data portfolio enables organizations to transform enterprise data into actionable intelligence, driving better insights, forecasting and real-time decision-making. Continued investments in AI-powered analytics strengthen value extraction across complex data ecosystems. During FY26, the portfolio was strengthened with the following key AI enhancements:

  • Actian AI Analyst was launched as a conversational analytics solution with a Steward Agent for faster, trusted insights.
  • New Data Observability Agents and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server ensure only trusted data reaches AI models and workflows.
  • An MCP server in the Actian Data Intelligence Platform enables governed, high-quality data access for AI assistants.

Specialized Software portfolio continues to deliver deep domain expertise for targeted industry and engineering use cases. Key innovations during FY26 included the release of CAMWorks v2026, featuring CNC programming support for Swiss Machining. This enhancement expands the platform’s capabilities for high-value manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, medical devices and electronics. Across the portfolio, AI-enabled features are being incorporated to improve design, engineering productivity and operational performance.

By combining the XDO Blueprint, the convergence of software and services and a portfolio-led strategy infused with AI and Agentic AI, HCLSoftware is enabling enterprises to operationalize transformation at scale. The result is a connected ecosystem of outcome-driven platforms that deliver greater productivity, stronger resilience, faster decision-making and sustainable long-term value for clients.

Elevating Efficiency and Performance of 3M with HCL Digital Experience

Operating across 70 countries and serving customers in more than 200 markets, 3M manages one of the world’s most extensive digital footprints. Its public web properties attract close to 97 million visits and 330 million page views annually. Historically, individual divisions and geographies relied on third party agencies to build and manage websites independently. This fragmented model drove inconsistent customer experiences, higher costs and limited 3M’s ability to rapidly implement global or country specific priorities at scale.

To regain control and consistency, 3M adopted HCL Digital Experience as a corporate wide platform. The solution enabled centralized governance while allowing local teams to easily replicate sites across markets and translate content for diverse audiences. Creative and operational control shifted in house, reducing dependency on external agencies and simplifying global rollouts.

3M achieved a more unified, scalable and cost efficient digital ecosystem—delivering a consistent brand experience worldwide, accelerating time to market and strengthening its ability to engage customers wherever they are.

Quotes This will further reduce the cost of ownership while allowing us to keep the software up to date with the latest HCLSoftware has to offer. We are excited for what the future holds and look forward to advancing and improving everyday life.”

Unica Interact Enhances Personally-Tailored Customer Experience in BMO’s Omni-Channel Marketing Strategy

With more than 200 years of heritage, over a trillion dollars in assets and 12 million customers worldwide, BMO (Bank of Montreal) operates at significant scale and complexity. As customer expectations evolved, it faced a critical challenge: delivering seamless, personalized engagement across every touchpoint — digital, assisted and physical. Customers increasingly expected to interact on their own terms, with consistent service and full visibility of their relationship with the bank, regardless of channel or timing. Meeting these expectations while maintaining efficiency, relevance and trust required a more integrated approach to customer engagement.

BMO adopted Unica Interact to enable real-time, omni channel engagement across its enterprise. The platform allows the bank to present timely, relevant offers and service messages automatically through each customer’s preferred channel, while continuously learning from customer behavior to refine interactions.

BMO now delivers consistent, personalized experiences across all major channels, managing over a billion interactions annually. The approach has driven a threefold increase in response rates, improved service outcomes and delivered a positive return on investment within six months — strengthening loyalty, efficiency and long term value creation.
