Transforming Lives, Spreading Smiles
HCL Foundation (HCLF) was established in 2011 as the Corporate Social responsibility arm of HCL Technologies in India. It is a value-driven, not-for-profit organization that thrives in contributing toward national and international development goals, impacting the lives of people and communities through long-term sustainable programs.
The Foundation aims to alleviate poverty and achieve inclusive growth and development through a life cycle-based integrated community development approach, with thematic focus on Education, Health, Livelihoods & Skilling, Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction & Response. Child protective strategies, inclusion, and gender transformative approaches remain central in all initiatives of the HCL Foundation, thus ensuring comprehensive development.
In FY20, besides further deepening our impact and expanding our footprint within two new states in India, we strengthened our efforts and took meaningful action toward combating climate change. A better planet with all people achieving peace and prosperity is at the heart and culture of HCL. Through our flagship initiatives—HCL Samuday, HCL Grant targeting rural geographies, and HCL Uday and Clean Noida in urban geographies—the HCL Foundation impacted more than 1.8 million people in India. Our Special Initiatives—HCL Foundation Academy, Sports for Change, and Power of One—further continued to forge a path for their constituents to realize their potential. In FY 2019-20, HCLites contributed INR 16 million under the Power of one program toward scholarship of meritorious students from underserved communities. Globally, the Power of One program allowed our employees across the countries we operate and live in to contribute to local societies, extending our values and goodwill with a meaningful impact. Along with a ramp-up plan for the Power of One program in the US, we have launched local campaigns in Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, France, Sweden, and Australia.
While we continue to make progress in a sustainable and scalable approach to addressing social issues, the soul of HCL’s CSR is still defined by its passionate “Power of One,” which constitutes the HCL employee volunteers and contributors who offer their personal time and commitment toward social upliftment.
Our vision is to be the source code for sustainable socio-economic development.
We endeavor to nurture clean, green, and healthy communities where everyone is empowered and equipped to reach their full potential, in full engagement with our employees and partners, showcasing and establishing the best standards of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation in community development.
