Celebrating two decades of prosperity and success together

Two decades ago, HCL started its journey in the region from Sydney, Australia, and has now become the partner of choice for leading firms in Australia and New Zealand, including financial enterprises, supermarket chains, telecommunications companies, and Australia’s largest city council. We collaborate with three of the top four banks and with the top-three retailers in Australia, empowering companies with next-gen integrated services.

We now have eight Global Innovation Centers across the Australia and New Zealand geography—Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney in Australia; and Auckland, and Wellington in New Zealand. Our most recent delivery center in Adelaide spearheads new-age research and technology. It has been a commendable two decades of learning, growth, and innovation with our customers in Australia and New Zealand, helping us reach this milestone.

On this momentous occasion of 20 years in Australia and New Zealand, we’re also looking forward, and reaffirming our commitment to the region’s ecosystem, with a first of its kind technology partnership with an iconic institution that inspires and connects people across the geography.

Intrinsic to HCL’s DNA are the ideals of trust, transparency, and value-centricity. For 20 years, our outcome-oriented work culture has not only built trust in HCL with more than 50 customers in the region, it has also empowered HCL’s ideapreneurs to deliver more than 4500 ideas, amounting to $75 million in value. We have been delivering energy efficiently to more than one million users and supporting 277 million train journeys annually with the help of our partners. Together with our customers, we have grown our next-gen services, paving the way for a future built through remarkable experiences and outcomes. Across the region, we have invested in training and talent development programs to build the skills needed for the digital age. After creating more than 2500 job opportunities and employing more than 1600 ideapreneurs, with over 50% local talent, we are one united workforce in Australia and New Zealand.

Celebrating 20 years of equality together

HCL’s flagship program, Women Lead Australia, a one-to-one mentorship program for women in Australia, has impacted more than 60 women, helping them progress in their careers. HCL received a phenomenal response for its two chapters conducted in 2015 and 2017, and with the largest chapter set to launch in 2019, HCL seeks to further support the women leaders of tomorrow and innovate the way we work in the geography.

For 20 years, we have been transforming experiences for our local communities in Australia and New Zealand. By delivering strategic technology solutions, we engaged and provided the audience of the Volvo Ocean Race in Melbourne and Auckland in 2018 with a more connected experience. We have brought the world’s most popular soccer brand, Manchester United, to Sydney and Melbourne, to engage fans and our partners and their families through the Manchester United Soccer School platform. Our growth in the region is underpinned by an increase in local presence, strategic partnerships, and investments.

Today, we’re taking on a more pivotal role in connecting and transforming communities through their love of sport, as the Official Digital Technology partners of Cricket Australia.

Cricket is an indelible part of the regional identity, uniting and inspiring fans across all ages and backgrounds - truly embedded in the local culture, history and vernacular. Each cricket season, fans across ANZ register over 314 Mn digital impressions, to follow the journey of the Men’s and Women’s teams, deservedly earning cricket the title of Australia’s national pastime.

Cricket Australia (CA) is accountable to the growth and development of the game, and is driven by the purpose to inspire everyone in the nation to love the game. CA partners with HCL to realize their vision of making cricket a sport for all Australians, and Australia’s favourite sport.

This is an exciting opportunity for us to utilize our technology prowess to showcase our local footprint, innovating and influencing how Australians experience their one national sport. 

HCL brings its two decades of experience and expertise in expanding and engaging ecosystems to empower CA to inspire love for the game across their ecosystem of:

  • Fans (from the new to the devoted, stadium season ticket holder to the digital native, from coast to coast)
  • Participants and volunteers (junior participants, families, schools, teachers, clubs and communities, support system enablers - coaches, physios, umpires, volunteers, facility providers, groundsmen and curators, and more)
  • Elite teams and players (from backyards and beaches to earning the prestigious ‘Baggy Green’ cap)

HCL will enable CA’s goals with its own technology ecosystem of software, services and engineering, to scale exceptional experiences across CA’s ecosystem through a reimagined ‘Platform of Platforms’ digital core that is modular, scalable, self-healing and human centered.
