Aftermarket cloud strengthens manufacturing service operations
Overview
A global manufacturing company partnered with HCLTech to modernize how aftermarket product and parts information is accessed across its service ecosystem. By replacing fragmented PDF-based catalogs with a unified aftermarket cloud solution, the manufacturer improved ordering accuracy, reduced service inquiries and accelerated data validation across product models.
Manufacturers managing complex product portfolios rely on accurate and easily accessible parts information to support aftermarket service and fulfillment. In this case, a global manufacturer needed a scalable way to centralize product data and enable faster, more confident parts ordering across regions and teams.
The Challenge
Critical product and parts information was stored across individual PDFs for each model. While the data existed, it was difficult to locate, compare and validate. This slowed daily operations, increased dependency on manual searches and drove a high volume of inquiry calls from service teams and buyers. The lack of a single trusted source also increased the risk of errors during parts selection and order placement.

The Solution
HCLTech implemented a cloud-based interactive digital catalog that acts as a master repository for all product models and parts. The solution consolidates data into a single platform, enabling users to quickly search, visualize and validate information with minimal effort.
The aftermarket cloud integrates with enterprise systems to reflect real-time availability and pricing based on user profiles and regions. Its intuitive design allows teams to adopt the platform quickly without extensive training while supporting consistent access to accurate data across the organization.

The Impact
Faster access, fewer inquiries and better order outcomes
The solution was delivered in 20 weeks and now supports more than 250 users and 60,000 SKUs. Over 1,200 product drawings were digitized, with 600 standardized for consistency. More than 17,000 individual parts data points and over 200 model catalogs are now available through the platform.
As a result, the manufacturer achieved a 90% reduction in inquiry calls, improved order success through intelligent part recommendations and significantly faster validation of product data across models.
Why it Matters
Aftermarket performance is a critical differentiator for manufacturers. By establishing a single, reliable digital source for product and parts information, the manufacturer reduced operational friction and improved the experience for service teams and buyers alike. Following the success of this initiative, the organization plans to extend the aftermarket cloud across additional product lines to further scale the benefits of data digitization.
