Job description:
Job Purpose
- SME is responsible for Incident, Change, Problem, Knowledge, Availability and Capacity Management for the Database stacks (Primary Skill: Oracle Exacc DBA. Secondary skills: DB2 LUW, MySQL and PostgreSQL).
- Manage L2/L3 production/project support activities.
- This also includes the initial setup or update, patching for these Databases
- Responsible for script development/ update in different scripting (Shell and Perl).
- Responsible to maintain Playbooks, Use of Ansible, Puppet in most of DBA's activity.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills
- Experience or familiar on tools like ticketing and monitoring tools.
Job Scope
- Should have at least 6-8 plus years’ experience in handling production/project support L2/L3 Incident & Change Management.
- Regular application & production support (ticket solving) and maintenance (enhancement) work.
- Perl and Shell scripting knowledge is must.
- Troubleshooting, Problem resolution, root cause analysis skills are much required.
- Candidate should be willing to learn, analyse the code, explore and build the documentation to help sharing of knowledge.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required as job responsibility demands the interaction with customer & business.
- Past hands-on experience on handling production incidents with quick reactivity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Excellent understanding, installing, administering and working knowledge of Oracle 12c through 19c databases ·
- Experience in configuring and managing Oracle RAC, Clusterware, Grid Infrastructure, Oracle ASM & OEM
- Experience with RMAN database backup and recovery using ZFS/ZDLRA and Data Domain.
- Hands-on with CDB & PDB architecture, design and implementation.
- Good experience with DataGuard setup and management
- Experience with Perl, Unix Shell Scripting, and Python/Ansible for custom monitoring and automation·
- Experience with troubleshooting problems relating to the Oracle database that may originate or exist in the infrastructure that supports the data store including application server, network, storage, and operating system component/layer · Exadata feature enablement, monitoring, review and update placement strategy.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and generate customize reports using OEM.
- Monitor resource utilization and Oracle Compute Unit (OCPU) enablement · Good exposure and hands-on with Oracle ExaCC (Exadata Cloud @ Customer) architecture, managing and creating resources using cloud dashboard · Create/manage Oracle SR and support team in issue resolution
- Strong experience in Oracle Core Database administration and monitoring including · Exposure to Performance of ExaCC
- Experience with migration of Oracle Databases from On-premise to Oracle Exadata Cloud at Customer using ZDM.
Skills required:
- Must have minimum 10-12 years of hands-on experience working on Oracle Databases on different OS platforms. minimum 6-8 years of hands-on experience working on Oracle Exacc/Exadata.
- Must have good experience in upgrades of Oracle Databases. Should be able to use automation scripts for patching and upgrades.
- Must be able to maintain High Availability and Disaster recovery according to SLAs.
- Knowledge of CommVault for backup desirable.
- Must have experience developing, modifying and maintaining shell scripts (bash, Perl, etc.), Ansible playbook and Puppet.
