HCLTech deployed 300+ specialized resources to migrate Henkel's legacy data platform to a modern cloud-native architecture using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake and Power BI, enabling real-time campaign monitoring and predictive analytics capabilities.

The Challenge:

With growing competition in the market, Henkel needed to improve its marketing efforts by creating more targeted, effective campaigns, and to drive greater customer satisfaction. However, its legacy infrastructure was not up to the task — hindering marketing effectiveness and business decision making by severely limiting access to timely insights and preventing optimization of digital marketing campaigns across platforms like Meta, Google Ads and Amazon Advertising. In addition to that challenge, Henkel also needed a way to seamlessly monitor data availability and correctness among SLAs. This meant transitioning from its legacy systems to a centralized, cloud-based data lake-house architecture while implementing robust ETL workflows capable of handling multiple data transmission modes in parallel.

The Objective:

This comprehensive digital transformation initiative aimed to establish a modern Henkel Data Platform (HDP) that would enable data-driven marketing decisions, improve campaign performance and empower monitoring of SLA data. The project required a partner able to create a unified analytics environment that could support real-time campaign and SLA monitoring, predictive modeling using historical marketing data and scalable business intelligence across multiple business domains.

The Solution:

HCLTech implemented a comprehensive data engineering solution leveraging Microsoft's analytics ecosystem. The solution utilized Azure Databricks as the core analytics engine, Azure Data Lake for scalable storage, Azure Data Factory for data integration, Azure DevOps for CICD and Power BI/Azure Data Explorer for monitoring and visualization. The platform enabled processing of large-scale marketing data with real-time capabilities, interactive data exploration and robust ETL workflows that addressed data quality issues including missing values, outliers and inconsistencies.

  • Performed Data Cleansing activities: Addressed issues such as missing values, outliers and inconsistencies and transformed the data to ensure its suitability for analysis using Databricks
  • Multi-platform data integration: Identified related data sources such as Meta for Business, Google Ads, Amazon Advertising, etc. and analyzed various aspects such as APIs, access, data objects and formats and chosen Databricks to execute ETL activities

Mosaic, the world's leading integrated producer of concentrated phosphates and potash for fertilizers, partnered with HCLTech to transform its legacy analytics system into a modern, cloud-native data platform. Following transition of Mosaic’s ERP ecosystem through the Global Digital Acceleration program, HCLTech leveraged a suite of Microsoft applications to enable real-time analytics across mining operations, supply chain and financial data.

The Challenge:

Mosaic’s mining and production facility ecosystem stretches across multiple countries and three main verticals: operations and mining, corporate and regional services, and global strategic marketing and supply chains. This ecosystem generates a vast amount of data. However, like many large-scale organizations, its legacy analytics system struggled to leverage all the data collected to extract meaningful insights and analytics.

Mosaic's recent ERP ecosystem transformation through SAP S/4 and other SaaS services brought major changes to data management across finance, corporate, supply chain and logistics functions. The company needed to integrate data from S/4 and other sources like O9 and make it readily available for analysis — so that teams could better manage third-party contractors and vendors, analyze P&L data and overall sales and Treasury financial data from B2B and B2C operations primarily in North and Latin America, as well as predict prices for MAP and MOP (key ingredients for fertilizer manufacturing).

The Objective:

As part of its continuously growing Mosaic Information Center (MIC) program, Mosaic sought to establish a centralized data hub utilizing modern data architecture and cloud technologies. Building on its complete Azure infrastructure investment, the company aimed to leverage Microsoft's native data services including Synapse, Power BI, Data Lake and AI services to enable seamless transition to modern data architecture while supporting continuous growth requirements without changing its native landscape.

The Solution:

HCLTech implemented a comprehensive data platform utilizing Azure Synapse Analytics for pipeline, Spark and SQL development capabilities to process structured and semi-structured data including S/4 data, databases, files, JSON and XML formats. The solution incorporated Azure Data Lake as primary storage, Power BI for visualization and analytics, and Logic Apps with Azure Key Vault for secure data integration. This architecture enabled seamless data flow from multiple sources into the centralized MIC for enterprise-wide analytics.

The Challenge:

Due to its outdated paper-based systems, WaterNSW faced critical operational inefficiencies managing water resources across NSW. Manual processes created delays in work order completion, hindered real-time monitoring of water quality and compromised compliance tracking across WaterNSW’s extensive network of dams and waterways. This was particularly challenging given its responsibility to supply two-thirds of NSW's water to communities, agriculture and industry — where data accuracy and timely reporting are essential for public safety and regulatory compliance.

The Objective:

WaterNSW sought to modernize its field operations through advanced mobility solutions. The goal: create a seamless digital ecosystem to enable real-time data capture, streamline work order management and integrate with WaterNSW’s existing EAMS system — while ensuring reliable offline functionality for remote field operations across NSW's diverse geographic regions.

HCLTech developed a comprehensive Field Service Mobility solution on Microsoft Azure, deployed on iOS using iPads with online and offline capabilities. It synchronized over 50,000 assets and 550+ checklists, enabling near real-time integration with the EAMS system. Key features included:
