HCL ties up with Orion to acquire specific trained resource pool

Noida, India – March 8, 2011 – Pioneering a new trend in the BPO talent acquisition space, HCL Technologies Ltd. (HCL), a leading global IT services provider, and Orion Edutech Pvt Ltd, Asia’s leading BPO training institute today jointly announced the launch of a unique and innovative initiative to address the emergent issue of talent in the BPO industry. Under the agreement Orion will customize its Diploma in BPO Management (DIBM) to suit HCL’s industry specific talent requirement. This program will be called the ‘Orion Diploma in BPO Management – Powered by HCL’. This partnership with Orion reinforces HCL’s Employees First Customers Second philosophy and will empower prospective HCL employees with the right set of BPO industry-specific knowledge and skills. 

According to the terms of the partnership selected candidates from the ‘Orion Diploma in BPO Management – Powered by HCL’ will be absorbed into HCL as project trainees, and on completion of the in-house three-month training cum probation selected candidates will be awarded with the ‘Orion Diploma in BPO Management – Powered by HCL’ certificate; these selected candidates will be made Full Time Employees of HCL Technologies’ Business Services division. This exclusive tie-up with Orion bolsters HCL’s strategy to provide customers with the Next Generation business services delivered by a world-class pool of talent.

While HCL Technologies’ Business Services division has instituted internal management trainee programs for its employees, the division is also looking to equip new joinees with the right information so that their orientation to the BPO industry is much stronger to help them grow better in their careers. HCL strongly believes in up-skilling the current generation who are serious about making a career in BPO.
