The Sydney office opening is part of HCL's global delivery strategy to offer customers support from various locations around the world. HCL currently operates delivery centers in India, China, Poland, Singapore and Ireland and has recently announced its plans to open the US delivery centre in North Carolina.

The global development centre located at 80 Mount Street, North Sydney was officially inaugurated on Wednesday 20 August, 2008 by His Excellency Consul General of India, Mr. Sujan Chinoy.

Speaking on the occasion, HCL's Special Guest, His Excellency, Consul General of India, Mr. Sujan Chinoy said, "I am delighted to be here this evening at the launch of HCL's new global development centre in Sydney. HCL Technologies is well known for its innovation, leadership and its excellent global delivery models for quality ICT products and services. Its presence in Sydney is indicative of its strong commitment to the Australian market and is yet another "feather in its cap" in terms of the company's growing profile in Australia. Congratulations to the HCL team and I convey my best wishes to HCL and its partners in Australia for a successful future".
"Our success has been built on key markets such as Australia and New Zealand, where we have been operating for over a decade. It is the area with the highest potential for growth and is already the fastest growing region in HCL's global network. We have been experiencing 80% growth year-on-year in the Asia Pacific & Australia and New Zealand regions and expect this to continue", said Brian Pereira, Head, Australia and New Zealand, HCL Technologies.

The Sydney expansion follows the opening of an office in Canberra in May 2007, and soon HCL will be opening an office in Melbourne to support customers' research and development needs.

HCL is proud to be working with eight of Australia's top ten financial institutions, leading retailers and waste management organizations. HCL recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary with BT Financial Group, just one of the many clients with whom HCL has a long-standing relationship.

HCL also announced today the recently signed partnerships with the Australian Computer Society and Australia's leading business schools: Namely, the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) and the Melbourne Business School (MBS). These partnerships will further support HCL's growth in the region and the development of skilled staff in Australia and New Zealand.

"We see real value in commercial firms like ours partnering with Australia's leading education institutions. We believe that sharing our practical experiences with Australia's future business leaders is essential in preparing them for the challenges that lay ahead," said Mr. Pereira.
