Java has stood the test of time. It remains the dominant programming language for developing enterprise applications. With respect to Java EE, it was earlier maintained by Oracle under the Java Community Process. On September 12, 2017, Oracle Corporation submitted Java EE to the Eclipse Foundation. This triggered a lot of questions in the Java world on the maintenance of the existing Java applications and many stakeholders from the Java community started responding with their own frameworks and solutions and by participating in the new Jakarta EE development. This blog discusses the need for the modernization of legacy java applications and provides different options available in the market. Also briefly highlights our experience in this space by using the proprietary tools.
