Role : Senior/Principal Electronic Test Engineer
Location : Newton, MA - Onsite
The Senior/Principal Electronic Test Engineer will be a part of the R&D organization and an important contributor to the realization of the next generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare. You will be a technical resource working on development of complex electro-mechanical assemblies. There will
be direct contribution from prototype to verification builds and tests within a regulated medical device development environment. This role is suited for a hands-on, R&D electronic test engineer proficient in detailed testing of electronic printed circuit boards, debugging electronic issues, performing soldering and mechanical reworks related to PCBAs, constructing prototype cables/harnesses for testing and updating eCAD part libraries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute PCB tests for incoming acceptance, design verification, and characterization
- Ensure suitability, testability and sufficiency of requirements
- Develop test environments and test cases
- Analyze test results, detect issues and track root causes
- Debugging electronic issues and determining root cause
- Plan and perform analyses on mixed signal circuits, document and review results
- Constructing cables and harnesses for test fixtures and prototypes
- Lead or support automated testing systems
- Support in repairs and updates to existing prototype robotic systems
- Perform soldering reworks for prototype updates and test point harnessing
- Maintain and update eCAD part libraries
- Maintain electronics equipment and components
- Author and support documentation according to EVR design control procedure
- Communicate and provide timely status reports
Qualifications:
- 10+ years work experience in testing electronics
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronical engineering or similar.
- Experience in heavily-regulated industries such as medical device, or aerospace is required
- Must know how to evaluate at least 3 of the following: Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, BISS-C, motor commutation
- Must have hands on test experience including official design verification
- Must have experience in design transfer and product (PCBA) launch
- Must have excellent soldering skills and experience
- Outstanding documentation and communication skills required
- Strong fundamentals for electronics is require
Compensation and Benefits
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
