Senior Harness Designer
Job Summary
The Senior Harness Designer plays a critical role in the development of high-quality harness designs that are aligned with project requirements and customer expectations. This position emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and adherence to design standards, ensuring the effective integration of electrical systems within larger projects. The Senior Designer is crucial in mentoring junior team members and facilitating effective communication across diverse teams to drive design success.
- Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate With Stakeholders To Gather And Refine Design Specifications, Utilizing Harness Design Software Tools To Create Precise Schematics And Electrical Layouts.
2. Develop Prototypes And Proof-Of-Concept Implementations Using Cad Software To Validate Design Decisions And Assess Performance Against Customer Needs.
3. Mentor Junior Designers And Provide Guidance On Harness Design Best Practices Through Training Sessions And Comprehensive Documentation.
4. Work With Cross-Functional Teams To Align Harness Design With Overall Project Goals, Ensuring Compatibility With Electrical Cabling And Power Distribution Systems.
5. Engage With Quality Assurance Teams To Establish And Uphold High-Quality Standards In Harness Design Deliverables, Ensuring Compliance With Industry Specifications.Skill Requirements
1. Strong Understanding Of Harness Design Principles And Practices.
2. Proficiency In Cad Software For Creating Schematics And 3D Routing Designs.
3. Familiarity With Electrical Cabling And Power Distribution Systems.
4. Basic Knowledge Of Electro-Mechanical Packaging Considerations.
5. Experience In Developing Prototypes And Proof-Of-Concept Models.Certification
1. Optional But Valuable: Certified Harness Designer (Chd).
2. Optional But Valuable: Professional Engineering (Pe) Certification In Electrical Engineering.
Compensation and Benefits
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
