Job description:
Position Name: Manufacturing Engineering Lead/Manager
Location: Sparks, MD
Customer Name: Becton Dickinson
Rate: $50 - $55/hr
Mandatory: Medical Device Industry is MUST
Essential skills and qualifications:
- Educational background: A bachelor’s degree in mechanical with Plant manufacturing engineering background.
- Mechanical engineering Market knowledge, Negotiation skills, Relationship management and Project management skills.
- Vendor selection and negotiation: Coordinate the selection of new vendors and lead contract negotiations to secure favourable terms, pricing, and conditions.
- Contract management: Ensure vendor performance aligns with contractual agreements and service level agreements (SLAs) through regular monitoring and evaluation.
- Relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and serve as a primary point of contact.
- Performance monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for vendor performance and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with internal departments like procurement, legal, and finance to align vendor activities with company goals and project requirements.
- Issue resolution: Professionally resolve any conflicts or disputes that arise with vendors.
- Process improvement: Identify and implement improvements to vendor management, onboarding, and procurement processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Compensation and Benefits
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
