There is intense competition in the insurance industry and companies endeavor to have competitive positioning of their products. A US based insurance company wanted to create a customized and personalized vehicle insurance product for their customers. They wanted to design a product which monitors the driving behavior using telemetry data, assess the potential risk and associate the premium based on the risk profile of the driver. HCL helped the customer to implement a solution that helped to profile and categorize the driving patterns, which in turn aided in arriving at risk-based insurance premiums. The solution helped to create a highly personalized product – “Pay for how you drive”.
