CONNECTIVITY INFRASTRUCTURE FOR HOME-IOT ECOSYSTEM

CONNECTIVITY INFRASTRUCTURE FOR HOME-IOT ECOSYSTEM

Home Automation is no more a futuristic vision. Many of the hurdles which blocked its realization are now obsolete with the invent of ‘Internet of things’ (IoT) and its growing scope. Increased network bandwidths, round the clock available connectivity, falling prices of sensor and wireless technologies have enabled all objects in home to ‘talk’ with each other and made consumers more restless to experience that ultimate comfort of managing a truly IoT enabled ‘SMART HOME’. Research in IoT lacks unification and standardization, the space is still in its infancy. There is no standard definition which speaks about the IoT infrastructure model required to identify and connect the heterogeneous objects. So, this exploratory paper is an effort to explore the networking and connectivity technologies required for IoT infrastructure. This paper proposes an architectural model for IoT connectivity for “Home networking” and thus a “Smart Society” for mankind. Download to explore more.
