One Piece Male Luer Lock Connector (Compliance to ISO 80369-7) and Tip Protector

Small bore connectors in the medical product assembly are usually designed to fit precisely together with the cap with recommended interference. The interference between two mating (connecting) parts is contributing a major role for the precise fit when they are assembled. Generally, the interference analysis ensures the recommended fit to be provided for any mating components. This interference analysis shall be performed during the design phase of ISO 80369-7 compliance project for the new product design or existing product which implies a design change. This paper presents one of the approaches for an Interference Analysis of Luer Connector Vs Tip Protector assembly. The design change on Luer Connector due to ISO 80369-7: 2016 standardization has been initiated that leads to propose a new dimension on the Tip protector to fit with the Proposed Luer Connector for the future product applications.
