Linux in 3s
Linux in 3s
A fast world needs faster devices. Its seen that consumer electronics systems -- industrial, medical, etc. -- sold with branding of the speed of the processor and the kinds of operating systems they use. All these devices just do not boot fast enough, but using the deep sleep features of the processors to offer a warm boot requires a trade-off with power consumption. What if we could have a Linux system that is time-budgeted and can boot in only three seconds, or even at the sub-millisecond level (though we target only a 3-second boot).
